In recent years, it has sparked growing interest in the field of health and well-being. Beyond the subjective experience of those who practise it, neuroscience research has shown that mindfulness is associated with measurable changes in brain function and cognitive processes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"614\" data-end=\"762\">These studies make it possible to understand how mindfulness can influence brain activity, emotional regulation, and stress response.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"764\" data-end=\"822\">Changes in brain structure: hippocampus and amygdala<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"824\" data-end=\"1295\">Scientific investigation has identified structural changes in certain areas of the brain associated with the regular practice of mindfulness. Some studies indicate an increase in the volume of the hippocampus, a region involved in memory and learning. In parallel, a decrease in the volume of the amygdala, a structure linked to emotional processing and stress response, has been observed. Studies indicate that mindfulness practice is associated with reduced activity in this network, which can translate into a reduced tendency for repetitive thoughts and a greater presence in the current moment.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"2148\" data-end=\"2208\">Influence on neurotransmitters: serotonin and dopamine<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"2210\" data-end=\"2546\">Some research suggests that mindfulness may influence the activity of neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine, which play an important role in regulating mood, motivation, and well-being. Although this area is still under study, the results indicate potential benefits of mindfulness for mental health.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"2548\" data-end=\"2589\">Brain stability and flexibility<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"2591\" data-end=\"2966\">The practice of mindfulness has been associated with a balance between brain stability and flexibility.
