While technology can have educational benefits when used well, excessive screen time can interfere with brain, emotional and social development.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"467\" data-end=\"605\">In this article, we explore what neuroscience tells us about this topic and how it can support children's healthy and balanced development.<\/p>\n<h4 data-section-id=\"h0xd97\" data-start=\"607\" data-end=\"669\">Boredom is essential for brain development.<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"671\" data-end=\"801\">When a child experiences moments of boredom, their brain isn't inactive.
