Clinical Pilates uses the principles of the Pilates method, control, precision, breathing and body awareness, integrated with physiotherapy knowledge. It is a low-impact, intensity-adapted practice, suitable for those with pain or physical limitations, as well as those looking to prevent injuries and improve functional performance.

This methodology allows for integrated work on postural correction, core stability, joint mobility, muscle strengthening, and coordination and balance, contributing to a stronger, more aligned, and efficient body in daily activities.

It is recommended for everyone, whether they experience pain or not, have postural changes or reduced flexibility, who wish to re-educate and strengthen their body. It is particularly aimed at managing lumbar and cervical pain, joint problems, postural alterations, post-injury recovery, injury prevention, and sedentary lifestyles.

All sessions are led by physiotherapists, by specialist physiotherapists from the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute APPI.

At Integrativa, clinical Pilates sessions are individualised and carried out on the floor/ mat (Mattwork) or on equipment (Reformer, Mattwall, Split combo pedal chair, Spine corrector).

Before starting, an assessment is carried out to find out each student's clinical and physical condition.

Reformer

The Reformer is an advanced piece of Pilates equipment, similar to a sliding bed with springs. It allows for both global and specific work, helping to improve strength, flexibility, mobility, coordination and balance.

The Reformer is used to work all the muscles in upright, sitting, lying, four-legged and standing positions. Because springs of different intensities are used, it allows you to maximise different muscle actions and various types of contraction. In addition, the Reformer's instability promotes stability challenges, which help to develop muscle strength and improve balance.
